Tips for the participants arriving at Belo Horizonte.
VISA and Passports: As far as I know, Americans, Mexicans, Canadians, Indians, Chinese need a VISA to come to Brazil. European passport does not need a VISA. Please, verify with the Consulate closest to your city.
You can find the Brazilian consulate closest to you at the following address:

Arriving at Brazil: Normally, the passport control is made at Guarulhos airport (Sao Paulo) or Galećo airport (Rio de Janeiro). The customs are also done on these airports. Following, Belo Horizonte is 1 hour flight from either Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. For those coming directly to Belo Horizonte through Portugal, then the Passport control and customs are done here at Belo Horizonte.
Arriving at Belo Horizonte: Confins airport follows the international standarts. From the hall you can buy taxi ticket to downtown (approximately R$90,00 ~US$57,00). During May 13th, Guilherme and Maicon will be at the airport helping you with the taxis. Many of you will arrive more or less in the same time and, then, we suggest to share a taxi. You can pay with credit card (VISA, Mastercard). The Taxi companies are COOPERTAX and COOPERTRAMO.
Money exchange: Most of the restaurants you can pay with credit card (VISA, MASTER). You can get money on the Cash Machine (MAESTRO, CIRRUS, VISA ELECTRON or PLUS). If you intend to get money from the cash machine, I suggest you to take the money at the Bank of Brasil at the airport, which has a cash machine with the tag PLUS on it. For those that prefer exchanging money, at the airport you can find an Exchange Bureau. US dollars are the preferred money and, then, Euro. Other money you will probably pay over tax. You are not going to expend more than R$100,00/day/person including lunch.
Weather: The weather is getting crazy on this side of the earth. Nevertheless, may is normally sunny with a mild temperature around 15-25oC.
